I watched the world say goodbye to Whitney Houston today.  It was an amazing service and I'm glad I took the time to watch it.  Her music was beautiful and we will miss her.

It's a cold day here and I'm still battling an URI, so as I watched the service I went out to the craft room to catch up on a little card making.  I'm sorely behind; I've only made a few cards this month for Operation Write Home.  I'll have to double my efforts next month.  Our heros need cards!!

But I thought I'd share at least a couple of what I made today.  I still have a bunch to post that I've made for OWH; it's a way of sharing my card-making journey.

The outside of a birthday card.

The inside of the card.

When I made cards for Operation Write Home I only add a white liner for our heros to write on.  They don't always have colored or marker pens to use.  I've recently joined some card making groups where designers are used to decorating the insides of their cards and I must say, it certainly adds to the card!
This card I made as a 6" square, which is also something new for me.  I can tell that my Copic coloring skills still needs a lot of work, but that's what this is all about.  Gotta practice, practice, practice!!

This is the inside of the anniversary card.  The mats on the sentiment looks brown, but it is a black cardstock.

Christmas 2011.  For the first time ever I created some Christmas cards that I sent to family and friends.  Some of them were very simple, some more complicated.  I enjoyed making all of them and hope my friends and family enjoyed them!

And isn't it curious that I can't find the cards I worked the hardest on.  I know I have pictures somewhere, but I can't find them.  If and when I do, I will share them.
